Mickie’s Miracles organized an Infantile Spasms Symposium with funding from a grant received from Infantile Spasms Awareness Week (ISAW). The purpose is to educate pediatric emergency room and primary care physicians to recognize the symptoms of IS — as well as understand the urgency for diagnosis and treatment. The symposium was moderated by Dario Herrera, E.D. of Mickie’s Miracles, and led by leading pediatric epileptologists and infantile spasms experts Dr. Mary Zupanc of CHOC Children’s Health and Dr. Lily Tran of Nemours Children’s Health.
